French little blue opaline vase 19th century “Portieux”

 

Definition.

This little blue vase is made at the second part of the 19th century in France, by the famous glass factory Portieux.

 

The vase is made of blown opaline blue glass in wooden mold.

The vase is made after the model of the knobble vase.

At the bottom a round belly with a calyx on top.

The belly is beautifully decorated with bumps and the neck has a leaf motif.

At the top, the calyx is wavy-serrated.

At the bottom you can see the cut-off of the blowpipe.

 

Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
