Belgian crystal Val Saint Lambert toilet set “Hubert Fouarge”
Belgian crystal Val Saint Lambert toilet set “Hubert Fouarge”
Definition.
The toilet set is made around 1900 in Belgium, by the famous crystal factory “Val Saint Lambert” and is designed by “Hubert Fouarge”
This set have the design of the “Berncastel” serrie.
This rare set is mouth blown from clear crystal, after which a layer of green crystal is applied over it. During the finish, part of the green crystal is then cut away so that beautiful geometric figures appear. These, in turn, give a beautiful sparkle in the light.
This doubled crystal is typical of Val Saint Lambert, they perfected this process and often used it.
Val Saint Lambert uses high lead crystal. This means that at least 33% lead oxide (PbO) is used, more than the statutory 24%. This greatly benefits the quality: The crystal can be processed finer, the degree of brilliance is a lot greater and the crystal is clearer than ever.
This is an absolute masterpiece in terms of glassware and crystal.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
