19th century crystal flacon “Karlsbad – Moser & Söhne”

Definition.

Very nice crystal flacon, made in at the end of the 19th century in France.

This rare flacon is mouth blown from clear with a shade of green crystal.

This technique was mainly used by Karlsbad. The bottle is very unique because of the color play from clear to darker green crystal.

Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.

Ludwig MOSER was born on 18 Jun 1833 in Karlovy Vary (now Karlovy Vary), Bohemia and died on 18 Sep 1916 in Ludwig Löwi MOSER Karlsbad.

Ludwig received training in engraving, and in 1857 he founded his own workshop and glass shop. The shop and workshop were located in the Golden Key House, later in the Red Heart House in Stará louka. In 1893 he founded his own glassworks in Dvory u Karlových Varů, where Moser, a.s., Company now has its registered office. Moser concentrated only on the production of glass art; the raw material was Bohemian crystal glass which, thanks to its hardness, was best suited for artistic processing through engraving, cutting and decorating with gold and painting. He exhibited his products at world and industrial exhibitions where they won a number of awards.
