VSL Crystal vase with 925 silver edge “Wolfers Freres”

Definition.

The vase is made in the middle of the 20th century in Belgium, by the famous crystal factory “Val Saint Lambert” and by the silver worker “Wolfers Freres”

It is made of mouth-blown clear crystal. During the finishing, part of the crystal is then cut away so that beautiful geometric figures are created. These, in turn, give a nice sparkle in the light.

Val Saint Lambert uses high lead crystal. This means that at least 33% lead oxide (PbO) is used, more than the statutory 24%. This greatly benefits the quality: The crystal can be processed finer, the degree of brilliance is a lot greater and the crystal is clearer than ever.

This is an absolute masterpiece in terms of glassware and crystal.

The edge of the vase is finished with a 925 pure silver edge.

This is provided with the necessary quality marks.

Wild boar head above W and A925.

The silver mark refers to the Brussels goldsmith "Wolfers Freres" who had been active since 1942.

Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade vintage glassware.
