French Art deco glass vase “Clichy - Legras”
French Art deco glass vase “Clichy - Legras”
Definition.
Very beautiful glass vase, made at the end of the 19th century in France by the famous glass factory François-Théodore Legras.
The vase is made from mouth-blown glass, with a crystal content to obtain a beautiful shine.
This vase is made from different types of small glass beads, with brown, and yellow as the main color. These glass beads were fused with each other, giving you a unique speckle pattern, we call this spatter glass.
Small gold particles were also used in the glass.
This type of glassware was very specific to Clichy's glassware, who worked together with François-Théodore Legras.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade art nouveau glassware.
