Antique French opaline vase “Portieux”

 

Definition.

These beautiful chalice vase is made at the end of the 19th century in France.

 

The vase is made of mouth-blown opaline glass.

This is a milk white colored glass with a crystal content.

After blowing the vase, the decorations were painted.

 

The vase is so finely made that it must have been made by one of the better crystal houses.

At the bottom is also the artist's signature.

Portieux in particular were known for this beautiful opalescent glassware.

 

Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
