Antique red-blue crystal vase “Lauscha – Saint Louis”
Antique red-blue crystal vase “Lauscha – Saint Louis”
Definition.
This beautiful art deco vase was made at the beginning of the 20th century in Germany.
The vase is made of mouth-blown clear and red crystal.
After blowing, a sky-blue crystal layer was applied to the inside.
The clear part in the vase makes the blue pattern visually visible on the outside.
The vase has a very modernist look for its period.
These modernist decorations were previously used in 19th-century crystal work made by Saint Louis.
The model of the vase also corresponds to the crystal work of Saint Louis.
Presumably, this is a work made by an artist who also worked at Saint Louis in France.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
