19th Century Legras Bottle “Hand with torch”

Definition.

Rare antique bottle in the shape of a Hand with torch.

This bottle was made in the 2nd half of the 19th century, by the famous French glassworks "Legras"

The bottle is made of an alloy of glass and crystal, to obtain a more beautiful and purer glass.

In the 19th century, glass and crystal were not as pure as what we know today.

The bottle is mouth-blown in a wooden mold. At the bottom of the bottle you can still clearly see the cut-off of the blowpipe.

The bottle is also signed at the bottom with "Depose", this was the former patent that could only be used by the large recognized glass/crystal factories.

A wooden ladder was installed in the bottle.

Making this ladder in the bottle was a job for real artists.

Very nice unique item for the collectors.

Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
