Clear colored crystal vase.
Clear colored crystal vase.
Definition.
This beautiful vase is made at the middle of the 20th century in Bohemia (Germany – Czechoslovakia).
It is made of mouth-blown clear crystal.
The vase is then very finely decorated with tightly cut figures.
There are also leaves tendrils engraved around with a cut mythical creature in the center.
Underneath the Latin text is written "Deo spes Mea".
The vase is mounted on an hourglass-shaped trunk, which is hollow and sharpened.
This trunk can also be found in the crystal work of Val Saint Lambert in various crystal tableware.
These well-known crystal houses therefore used leaden crystal. This means that at least 33% lead oxide (PbO) is used, more than the legal 24%. This improves the quality enormously: the crystal can be processed finer, the degree of brilliance is much greater and the crystal is brighter than ever.
This is an absolute masterpiece of glassware and crystal.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade vintage glassware.
