Blue Uranium French glass goblet, 19th century

Definition.

This rare beautiful blue uranium goblet was made in the second part of the 19th century in France.

'Le creusot' was the most famous glass manufacturer that made this goblets at the end of the 18th - beginning of the 19th century. This factory split in 1830 and Baccarat and Saint Louis were born.

The glass must therefore have been made by one of these 2 manufacturers, as they were still in possession of the old molds.

The goblet is made of cast glass, with a crystal content to achieve a more beautiful shine.

A content of uranium has been added to the glass, which causes the fluorescent to glow green with a UV light.

The glass is beautifully decorated with arcades.

Very nice item for the collector of antique glassware.

Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
