Antique French Carafe (1800-1830)
Antique French Carafe (1800-1830)
Definition.
This rare carafe was made in the early 19th century, by one of the famous French glassworkers.
The carafe is made of mouth-blown glass with lead, this is the old crystal.
After blowing the carafe, the acid etching technique is used to apply fine decorations with great precision.
The decanter has a very beautiful scene of flower tendrils.
At the bottom you can see the cut-off of the blowpipe.
This beautiful convex carafe is perfect for storing a liqueur.
Very nice unique item for the collectors.
Please note:
This one is completely handmade, so the shape is not perfect.
In the 18th and early 19th centuries, the crystal was not as pure as what we know today.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
