Wiskemann:
Wiskemann silver-plated cutlery and tableware has been known for decades for its quality, durability and elegant appearance. The Wiskemann brand – with roots in Belgium and Switzerland – has a rich history and is appreciated by connoisseurs as one of the better names in silver-plated silverware of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The Wiskemann brand was founded by Jean Wiskemann, a scion of a family of Swiss origin, who settled in Belgium in the 19th century. He brought together the technical craftsmanship from Switzerland with the refined taste of the Belgian and French markets. His company grew into a renowned producer of silver-plated and solid silver cutlery, jugs, bowls and crockery parts.
Wiskemann worked a lot for the upper bourgeoisie, hotels and the hospitality industry, and his silver-plated pieces were seen as an affordable alternative to solid silver – but with a long lifespan and stylish design.
