19th Century French Carafe
19th Century French Carafe
Definition.
This carafe was made in the 2nd half of the 19th century, by one of the famous French glassworkers.
The bottle is made of an alloy of glass and crystal, to obtain a more beautiful and purer glass.
In the 19th century, glass and crystal were not as pure as what we know today.
The carafe is mouth-blown, after which fine decorations are applied with great precision with the acid engraving technique.
This beautiful convex carafe is perfect for storing a liqueur.
Very nice unique item for the collectors.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
