These beautiful clogs were made in the 19th century.
These are made from cast clay in mold, the flowers and leaves are made of hand-formed clay.
After assembling the object in clay, everything was carefully painted by hand with glaze.
Then everything was baked in an oven, so it is possible that small cracks appear in the object. Baking mistakes.
The techniques used were already known in the 18th century in tile production in the Netherlands and Portugal.
This type of pottery was mainly very well known in France, England and to a lesser extent Belgium
The most well-known names are Majolica and Barbotine.
The flowers are so finely made that it is possible that over the years chips have broken off.
