French crystal carafe “Malmaison”
French crystal carafe “Malmaison”
Definition.
Beautiful mouth-blown crystal carafe, made at the end of the 19th century in France.
During the finish, part of the crystal is then cut away so that beautiful geometric figures appear. These, in turn, give a beautiful sparkle in the light.
The carafe is finished at the top with a silver-plated neck.
This model of decanter can be found in the old catalogue of Saint Louis under the service name "Malmaison"
The decanter is in nice condition and can be used perfectly for a liqueur.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
