8 Saint Louis port / wine glasses “Massenet”
8 Saint Louis port / wine glasses “Massenet”
Definition.
8 beautiful port / wine glasses are made around 1900 in France.
The glasses are made of mouth-blown glass, with a crystal content to obtain a more beautiful shine.
A thickening has been made in the stem of the glass as a decoration.
Fine lines and curls are engraved around the glass.
At the bottom of the foot you can see the cut-off of the blowpipe.
These glasses belong to the Saint Louis tableware series “Massenet engraved”
Around 1900 these were all wine glasses, now we use it more as port glass.
These are completely handmade, so they can differ in size and weight.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
