19th century art glass jug “Japon”
Definition.
Very beautiful glass jug in mouth-blown glass, with a crystal content to obtain a beautiful shine.
At the bottom of the jug you can still see the cut of the blowpipe.
This jug is made from different types of small glass beads, with white and blue as the main color. These glass beads were fused with each other, giving you a unique speckle pattern.
This type of glassware was very specific to Clichy's glassware, who worked together with François-Théodore Legras.
The name of this jug is “Japon”
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
