Belgian crystal Val Saint Lambert carafe
Belgian crystal Val Saint Lambert carafe
Definition.
Beautiful mouth-blown crystal carafe, made at the end of the 19th century – begin 20th century in Belgium.
During the finish, part of the crystal is then cut away so that beautiful geometric figures appear. These, in turn, give a beautiful sparkle in the light.
The round cuts are called "cotes plates"
The decanter has a nice convex shape, so you can use it for a liqueur or wine.
Please note that the crystal from the 19th century is not as pure as what we know today.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
