French crystal carafe “Saint Louis”
Definition.
Beautiful mouth-blown crystal carafe, made at the beginning of the 20th century in France, by the famous crystal factory “Saint Louis”.
This rare carafe is mouth blown from clear crystal, after which a layer of purple crystal is applied over it. During the finish, part of the purple crystal is then cut away so that beautiful geometric figures appear. These, in turn, give a beautiful sparkle in the light.
This doubled crystal is typical of Saint Louis, they perfected this process and often used it.
The decanter is in nice condition and can be used perfectly for a liqueur.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
