19th century crystal jug "Vonêche - Le Creusot"
19th century crystal jug "Vonêche - Le Creusot"
Definition.
This beautiful jug is mouth blown from crystal.
During the finish, part of the crystal is then cut away so that beautiful geometric figures appear. These, in turn, give a beautiful sparkle in the light.
The style of geometric figures let us think on the crystalwork from Vonêche and Le Creusot on the beginning of the 19th century.
Beware, crystal from the 19th century is not as clear as from contemporary times.
Vonêche and Le creusot were founded in the mid-18th century to make windows and drinking glasses. From 1800 onwards, she used cut crystal work for tableware. Around 1835 these factories collapsed and split them into the now well-known crystal factories, Baccarat, Val Saint Lambert, Saint Louis, ...
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
